Hey there! As every year unfolds, we see many fresh trends and makeovers. Although men’s traditional wear is all about classy kurtas, sherwanis and safari suits, we are seeing many new trends in them! And this is what creates the need to update your traditional outfits wardrobe! Wedding season is around the corner and I’m sure men are looking for new trends to impress girls gang in the wedding ceremonies.
Here are the 9 latest men’s fashion for Indian weddings.
Latest Men’s Fashion for Indian Weddings
1. Quilted Sherwani
This is one of the latest men’s fashion for Indian weddings. Ditch the usual sherwanis and go for quilted ones this wedding season. Sabyasachi Mukherjee came up with the concept of quilted kurtas and sherwanis and we couldn’t resist ourselves from talking about this trend owing to its elegant look and style. Both plain and printed quilted sherwanis are trendy. Quilted plain bandi paired with printed kurtas would also look great for wedding sangeet night.
2. Print on Print
Prints are currently ruling the Indian men’s ethnic wear. We’ve seen printed sherwanisand kurtas with plain pants or vice versa. But this season we’re seeing printed sherwani paired with printed chooridars or pants. Sounds interesting right? Go for a matching printed set and turn heads. Go for tiny prints instead of big ones.
3. Pre-Draped Kamarbandhs
Kamarbandh is an accessory that adds a belt-like look to the outfit. It is a broad strap that is mostly made of the same fabric as that of the outfit. This year we’re seeing pre-draped kamarbandhs that are attached to the sherwanis. This helps you avoid the hassle of fixing it every time and also helps the dupatta stay intact. You can add a brooch to make it look more appealing.
4. Floral Prints
If you don’t want to overdo with floral prints then choose dark floral printed pants or salwar and pair them with plain kurta to rock a mehandi ceremony or reception.
5. Statement Turbans
Turban or safa is an accessory without which any Indian wedding is incomplete. If you’re bored of wearing the red or orange colored turbans, then this wedding season take a break from them and go for statement ones.
Prints are ruling the Indian menswear outfits, we’re seeing floral and lehriya printed turbans too. Either match the print of your outfit to the turban or go contrast. A multicolored printed turban matches almost all the outfits.
6. Layered Necklace
To complete the ethnic wear look, add a layered necklace to it. Layered necklaces with both small and large pearls or beads are trendy. You can add two layered necklaces, one long and the other short.
7. Antique Shawl
Shawls and dupattas are picking up the pace in the fashion industry of Indian traditional wear. Antique pashmina shawls paired with plain kurta are trending this season. Even Virat Kohli was spotted wearing a black sherwani paired with an antique shawl at his reception.
8. Draping Style
Drapes are usually reserved for Patiala salwars but for the last couple of seasons, we’ve been seeing draped style kurtas. You can pair them with bandhgalas or bandi. I’m liking the one by Anju Modi in which a white colored kurta is paired with oxford blue bandhgala.
9. Slim Pants
Apart from chooridars and salwars, pair the sherwanis and kurtas with slim or cigarette pants this season. Straight fit slim pants are ruling the runways. Instead of jootis, go for oxford shoes for an Indo-western look. Go for slightly stretchy fabrics to avoid rips while sitting down.
